Doncaster Rovers are close to signing attacking midfielder Kieran Sadlier, according to reports.
The 24-year-old is a free agent after his contract expired at League of Ireland side Cork City.
Sadlier spent a short time at Peterborough United – Grant McCann’s former club – before kickstarting his career at Sligo Rovers and then Cork.
Last season he became the first player since 1974, and only the fourth in the history of the FAI Cup, to score in every round of the cup.
He finished second top of the League of Ireland scoring charts with 16 goals.
Reports suggest that Rovers could complete a move for the former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international next week.
The same reports claim that Doncaster have made a bid for Cork City centre back Seán McLoughlin but are yet to meet City’s valuation.
McLoughlin, 22, still has a year to run on his contract.
