Doncaster Rovers: Burnley test is our chance to get noticed - Dickov

Paul Dickov admits he is currently feeling a little underappreciated but wants his side to remedy that at Burnley tonight.

Rovers head to Turf Moor tonight buoyant following a run of three wins and a draw in their last four games.

But Dickov feels they have not been given due credit this season and has instructed his men to make the rest of the division sit up and take notice with a big performance this evening.

“I don’t feel we’re getting the credit we deserve,” he said. “This is a great game for us to change that.

“No one is expecting anything from us, again, but I want our players to go to one of the best sides in the division and show how good we’re capable of being.

“We’ve done well against the top sides this season.

“And beating Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend lets us go there and play with a bit of freedom. The pressure is off us a little bit.”

Burnley are the only side in the Championship with an unbeaten home record while Rovers have won just once on their travels.

Dickov says his side’s away day woes must be addressed but insists tonight’s outcome should not be considered a foregone conclusion.

He said: “We need to address the away form but who better to do it against than the best home side.

“They haven’t lost at home, we’ve won away just once. In this division you never know.”

Despite having no fresh injury worries, Dickov admits he is facing a dilemma as to whether to make changes to his side during a three game week.

He said: “There’s two ways to look at it. One is you don’t change a team that’s been doing well.

“It’s the first time this season I’ve been able to pick the same team three games running and I think the consistency in selection has been a major factor in the performances we’ve put in.

“On saying that, we’ve got two big games this season and there’s Theo Robinson, Dean Furman and Marc De Val all champing at the bit.”
