Doncaster Rovers: Andy Williams '˜hasn't been forgotten about'

Darren Ferguson insists he has not forgotten about Andy Williams.

The 31-year-old striker, who is out of contract in the summer, may come into contention for tomorrow’s home clash against Oxford United.

If Williams, one of the club’s highest paid players, remains at Doncaster Rovers beyond this season it would be a big surprise.

But Ferguson has not ruled out involving the former Yeovil and Swindon frontman during the run-in.

He featured alongside fit-again Danny Andrew, Issam Ben Khemis and Tyler Garratt for Rovers’ development side against Mansfield Town on Tuesday.

And those players will come into Ferguson’s thinking for this weekend if he decides to freshen up his team.

“Danny came through it fine,” said Rovers’ boss.

“And one or two of the senior players got games, and showed good attitudes which is important.

“Willo got another game. Willo could come into my thinking [for this weekend].

“He’s certainly not been forgotten about.

“[Craig] Alcock’s the same. I’ve got Issam that played, and Garratt.

“I’ve got a few that would come into the team if I decided to freshen it up. Alfie May’s another one. I have got good options.”

Williams, who was removed from the transfer list before the start of the season, has made just two league starts and six league appearances this term.

He last featured in late November before an ankle injury kept him out for just under four months.

Mathieu Baudry (hamstring) is expected to be available after he wasn’t risked against Bury.
