Paul Dickov insists the match officials could have handled the situation better as Doncaster Rovers clash with Bury descended into farce close to the final whistle.
Harry Forrester inadvertently scored after attempting to return the ball to Bury keeper Christian Walton after an injury to a Shakers player.
A large melee followed between players and staff of both clubs and was only resolved when Rovers allowed Leon Clarke to equalise unopposed straight from the kick-off.
Dickov was disappointed with the manner in which the officials managed the incident and said it could have been sorted quickly without much fuss.
"It was one of those moments in slow motion. I was thinking 'No! Don't go in, don't go in!" Dickov said.
