Hasani, from Cantley, made his senior debut two years ago and signed professional terms shortly afterwards.

He has made five senior appearances in total but has seen his progress hampered by injuries.

The 18-year-old joined National League North side Gateshead on loan in January but the season was curtailed due to lockdown measures and EFL regulations prevented him from featuring for Rovers afterwards.

Rovers boss Richie Wellens was given a positive recommendation regarding the midfielder and opted to offer him a deal, which includes the option for a further year.

And Hasani is looking forward to backing up that review on the training ground.

“I’m delighted to get it sorted and I'm looking forward to it,” he said.

“I remember the gaffer playing midfield here and being a midfielder myself, I just want to learn from him and see what I can offer.

“Towards the back end of last season, it was a bit frustrating but all I could do was keep my head down, train hard, and keep supporting everyone.

“The aim now is to break into the team. I haven’t started a game so I want to do that and I'd like to start regularly. I think I can achieve that if I keep working hard.”

Hasani joined the academy set up at the age of 11 after two years with the Rovers Development Centre. At the time of his senior debut he was the tenth youngest player to make their pro bow in the club's history at 16 years and 271 days.
