Ferguson was disappointed with aspects of his side’s performance in their win over Colchester United last weekend and says there can be no repeats at Bloomfield Road on Saturday.

“It’s going to be a tough match on Saturday,” he told the Free Press.

“Blackpool are a good team. We’re going to have to be a lot better than we were against Colchester if we want to get a win.

“They’re very organised, quite a physical team, especially the front two. Whoever it’ll be will be a handful.

“They’ll try to play. They’re a decent football team. It’ll be a tough game, it always is when you go up there. They’re very well organised.

“When we had Portsmouth watched they were playing Blackpool and Blackpool were excellent that day. We’ve seen other games as well.

“They’re 4-4-2, not that many do it. We have to be able to handle that.”

The 1-0 win over Colchester moved Rovers onto 26 points from 13 games, the two-points-per-game target Ferguson had set in order to win promotion this season.

Rovers will have to cope until mid-December without leading scorer Andy Williams after the striker was ruled out for eight to ten weeks with ankle ligament damage.

Midfielder Tommy Rowe is set to be fit for Saturday’s game after recovering from a calf strain suffered against Colchester.
