A win for Darren Moore’s side against Shrewsbury on Tuesday night would take them top of League One but despite the gruelling schedule they’ve een on and what awaits them, the manager has no new injury concerns, much to his delight.

Madger Gomes and Josh Sims remain unavailable due to hamstring injuries, but aside from that it’s a strong camp going into the festive period, following on from Saturday’s win over Burton which stretched their winning run to four.

"They're all fine and well,” Moore said ahead of taking on the Shrews at the Keepmoat. “We trained again and get ready for another quick turnaround.

He added: "The players look fine, when the games come we'll see [how they are coping]. At the moment, it's fine. I am looking for those signs [of fatigue] but I've not detected much at the moment so we'll wait and see.”

Shrewsbury find themselves at the bottom end of the table but their form has taken a turn for the better since Steve Cotterill took charge at the end of November and they’re unbeaten in the league since the former Birmingham City and Nottingham Forest boss came in, having picked up hugely impressive wins over Hull City and Lincoln City.

"They're a team bang in form, they are a team in a false position in the league, managed by a very experienced manager,” added Moore. “They have good players, players who are out to show their quality and the level they are at.

“They've drawn against Charlton and Accrington [as well as beating Hull and Lincoln], teams at the so-called high end, so it shows you where they are at as a team and as a club. The new manager has gone in there, they have a bounce and a spring in their step so we know it's going to be a tough game.

He added: “It’s two teams going head to head, bang in form and we go at each other... it bodes well on paper as a good game.

“It's a fixture we look forward to as a group.”
