Terms have been agreed for the individual to join the club and replace Adam Henshall, who on Friday departed Rovers to begin his new role at Aston Villa.

The newcomer’s arrival will be confirmed during the first week of May, after he has tied up loose ends in his current employment.

He has previously held a head of recruitment role at a Championship club and also acted as a performance analyst earlier in his career.

Rovers were keen to land a new head of talent identification sharing many of the same attributes as Henshall, with use of analytics high on the agenda.

Henshall completed his final day with Rovers on Friday as he prepares to join Villa as head of emerging talents and loan.

He was involved in the interview process that led to the appointment of his successor.
