Doncaster Rovers receive Covid test results ahead of FA Cup tie at Blackburn Rovers

Doncaster Rovers have been given a clean bill of health in regards to Covid-19 ahead of their trip to Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup this weekend.

As per the regulations for the third round of the competition onwards, all sides involved were required to undertake testing between 48 and 72 hours prior to their ties.

And after carrying out testing on Thursday, the Rovers players and coaching staff received a full slate of negative tests, clearing them to travel to Lancashire on Saturday.

The news will have delivered a considerable boost to the group, who have not played since December 22 due to an outbreak of the virus at the club.

Five players and a member of the backroom staff tested positive for Covid-19 over the festive period with the entire squad and staff required to enter self-isolation.

It saw matches against Accrington Stanley, Fleetwood Town, Peterborough United and Oxford United cancelled between December 26 and January 5.
