1. Josef Bursik 6
Caught a little flatfooted for Wigan’s opening goal as he watched the cross come across his box. Otherwise he was largely unworked and was pretty tidy in what he had to do, barring a couple of sloppy balls out of his box. Pulled off a great save at 1-0. Photo: AHPIX
2. Brad Halliday 8
A real attacking threat in the first half but much more reserved as Rovers were pushed back after the break. His runs inside consistently opened up space for Jon Taylor with the two showing their growing understanding. Photo: AHPIX
3. Joe Wright 6
Had a few nervy moments at the back as Wigan put the pressure on Rovers’ two centre halves. His sloppy play indirectly led to Wigan taking the lead as he gave away possession with a pass out from the back. Overall he was solid and got on the ball well in the first half. Photo: AHPIX
4. Tom Anderson 6
Not quite as commanding as he typically been on previous occasions as Wigan posted Joe Garner up against him and succeeded in unsettling the big man at times. He dealt with much of the aerial threat well. Photo: AHPIX
