Wolverhampton Wanderers duo Niall Ennis and Cameron John, plus Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey wrote on Twitter to say goodbye to supporters after it was confirmed the League One campaign had been curtailed.

Defender John wrote: “A big thanks to everyone at @drfc_official for having me over the past season. It wasn’t the way we wanted to end the season but there’s nothing we can do!

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at the club and the way the club accepted me for the jump was great!

“I want to thank the gaffer and the staff for giving me the opportunity to come here and showcase myself. Thanks to my teammates who have always been great and supportive; the fans were superb. Created memories here which I won’t forget...until next time.”

John made 21 appearances for Rovers, scoring three goals.

His Wolves team mate Ennis - who scored six goals in 32 appearances -, also posted a goodbye.

The striker wrote: “Can’t believe the seasons ending like this but I’d like to firstly thank all the fans for the backing home and away for me and the team and also taking me in from the start and making me feel welcome and apart of the club from day 1.

“I’d like to thank the gaffer and the coaching staff also for bringing me to the club and giving me the platform to learn and experience first team football and all my teammates and staff around the club for helping improve and grow both on and off the pitch.

“I wish the club all the best of luck in the future and I’ll be following the results.”

Ramsey only managed appearances after joining on loan in late January but made a big impression in a short space of time.

He wrote: “Thank you @drfc_official... Loved every minute!”

The decision to end the season also ends the loan spells of Seny Dieng, Ben Sheaf and Jason Lokilo at the club.
