Doncaster Rovers loanee Cameron John has contract extended at Wolverhampton Wanderers

Doncaster Rovers loanee Cameron John has seen his contract extended at parent club Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The versatile defender has been on loan with Rovers for the whole of the 2019/20 season, impressing in 21 appearances that have delivered three goals.

Wolves have taken up the option in John’s contract to extend the deal he signed in 2018, which was due to expire in the summer.

John started the season superbly for Rovers but suffered an ankle injury which kept him out of action for two months.

During his time out of the side, Joe Wright returned and forged a strong partnership with Tom Anderson at centre half. John was deployed at left back in most of his more recent appearances for Rovers.

His performances for Rovers earlier in the season are understood to have drawn the attention of several Championship clubs.
