Doncaster Rovers: 'I remember thinking he was a top player' - Ben Sheaf on his partnership with Ben Whiteman
Ben Sheaf admits he was determined to forge a strong partnership with Ben Whiteman at Doncaster Rovers - to make himself look better.
The Arsenal loanee has been paired with Rovers skipper in the sitting midfield roles since arriving at the club in the summer.
Sheaf says he quickly saw the quality of Whiteman – who signed a new three-and-a-half year contract last month – and knew a blossoming partnership would make his loan spell more successful.
“I think we compliment each other really well,” Sheaf said.
“I remember when I first came, I remember thinking he was a top player and if we could get a partnership together, he’s only going to make me look better.
