The Doncaster Rovers boss is usually lively and upbeat after any result but was noticeably quiet after the 3-0 defeat to Leicester City U21s in the Leasing.com Trophy – the second consecutive loss by that scoreline.

Moore claimed he was still coming to terms with the manner of the performance he had just witness and admitted he had not expected such a poor showing from his side.

“I think my mind was going so much and I think I was just caught unaware in terms of where we were at,” Moore said.

“The bit where I was a little bit subdued, my mind was ticking back to the game to say why didn’t we do certain things?

“There were certain things in the game that we could have done but we didn’t do them for whatever reason.

“That was the thought pattern really.

“We don’t have a blame culture here. We have a culture here where if things go well, we ask why they went well and how they can be even better. And if things don’t go well, we ask why they didn’t and what do we need to do to make sure it goes well next time.

“The subduedness was me trying to find ways and means why it didn't go well because I’m sure none of us would have seen that coming in terms of how the game played out in the end.”
