Doncaster Rovers' hopes for final few days of transfer window

Chief executive Gavin Baldwin revealed there are little funds left in the playing budget for further acquisitions and said boss Darren Moore would need to ‘think imaginatively’ if he is to add to his squad further.

And there is increasing confidence that Rovers may have done just that ahead of Friday’s 5pm deadline.

Moore has made no secret of his desire to add further depth to his midfield ranks before the summer window closes.

Rovers will also be looking to stave off interest in skipper Ben Whiteman before the deadline.

While no fresh bids have been registered for the midfielder, it is understood that Rovers have been contacted in the last few days with expressions of interest and enquiries about his availability.

Rovers have remained steadfast in their valuation of the 24-year-old, having rejected a series of bids from South Yorkshire rivals Barnsley last month.
