The two attack-minded players have shown increasing understanding over the last few months, prior to the hamstring injury which kept Taylor out of action last weekend.

Their link-up play has been excellent, helping to release both deep into opposition territory and cause opposition defences plenty of problems

Coppinger says the pacy forward’s contribution is all the more remarkable given he missed pre-season entirely as he was without a club until signed by Rovers in mid-August. “His stats are ridiculous, with the amount of distance he covers,’’ said Coppinger.
