It means Bursik will be unavailable for Rovers’ EFL Trophy clash with Bradford City at the Keepmoat on September 8.

Bursik will join up with the squad on Monday, following what could potentially be his debut for Rovers on Saturday in the Carabao Cup clash with Blackburn Rovers.

He will compete for the starting slot for England U21s with Aaron Ramsdale - who last week joined Sheffield United from Bournemouth - and Tottenham Hotspur’s Brandon Austin.

England currently top their qualifying group having won their opening four matches.
