Darren Moore taking nothing for granted as Doncaster Rovers face run against strugglers

Doncaster Rovers’ next three matches are against sides who find themselves in the relegation zone but boss Darren Moore is taking nothing for granted.

Rovers host 21st placed Swindon Town on Tuesday night and face Burton Albion and Shrewsbury Town over the following week.

Moore says the season so far has shown there are no gimmies in League One and expectations should be tempered for the pre-Christmas run.

“In every game we have won there have been obstacles that we’ve had to overcome,” he said.

“And I anticipate the same again onwards for us.

“It’s a competitive league this year, right throughout from top to bottom.

“The way that the points are tallying up shows that everyone is taking points off each other.”

Swindon have lost four of their last five matches in League One but Moore feels they are improving as boss John Sheridan makes his mark.

The former Rovers midfielder took charge a month ago after another ex-Rovers player Richie Wellens departed for Salford City.

Moore said: “They’ve had a change of manager and there is always that transitional period that goes on, that has to happen.

“I certainly can see performances there from individuals that show they are getting it together.

“While the results might not show in terms of performances, the performances are there.”

Rovers will come up against a pair of familiar faces tonight in former defender Mathieu Baudry - who was part of the side that won promotion from League Two in 2016 - and former loanee Tyler Smith.
