Reports in Shropshire have suggested Shrewsbury are keen to cash in on the 23-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the season and down the pecking order at the club.

And those reports suggested Rovers were set to swoop for Okenabirhie, who finished top scorer for the Shrews in League One last season.

But Moore says the forward is not a player he has considered making a move for this month as he looks to add to his squad.

“We’ve been linked,” he said. “Whether people are putting two and two together with it, I’m not sure.

“There’s been nothing from this side in terms of it.

“I can’t speak about someone else’s player really.

“All I’ll say is that we’ll just keep our targets out there and just keep working.

“I’ve heard little things but there’s nothing to report on that.

“Speculation is there and I can’t stop that.

“All I can say is no, there’s nothing like that at this moment in time.”

It had been suggested that talent identification manager Adam Henshall had played a role in Rovers lining up Okenabirhie from his former club Shrewsbury but that is not the case.

Eyebrows were raised among the Rovers hierarchy over the suggestions the forward was on his way to the Keepmoat.
