Rovers have been required to fight from behind after poor starts in their last two matches. And they have fallen behind in six of their last seven league matches.

They have also rescued eight points from losing positions in that run, often producing much improved performances in the second half.

Moore wants a levelling out of performances to a high standard, rather than his players needing setting on the right path at the break.

He believes the youthful nature and a good deal of senior level inexperience may be a factor in the lack of consistency.

With an average age of around 24 and a string of loanees gaining their first real taste of first team football, Moore accepts inconsistency may be something he has to battle with.

“We understand that,” he said.

“I have a desire in me with these young players to get them ready and showcase they can perform on the front line, irrespective of the level of club they’ve come from.“What they have to learn is to get the consistency that any sportsman or woman would say that is the one ingredient you need. That ability to perform and perform well on a consistent basis.

“This is what we’ll try to give the younger players here and that is what is needed here.

“You can only hope they learn from it as a group from that first half to second half showing.

“Not just here at Doncaster but for their careers as well.”

Moore has been pleased with his side’s resolve in being able to deal with the setbacks within games in recent weeks.

But his focus is to end the trend of falling behind.

“There’s no game I want to go behind in,” he said.

“Why it happens I don’t know. Is it because we’re a young grup and a young team this year? Maybe that could be a factor.

“With these issues that we pick up, there’s not one main focal point that we can say is a reason why.

“I don’t want to go behind again this season. You’re better off getting in front.”
