Rovers suffered a third straight defeat for the first time this season in midweek and are looking to end their losing run against promotion rivals Hull City this afternoon.

With little time for reflection between matches due to the punishing schedule, Moore says winning is the perfect way to breed much-needed confidence.

On the importance of a win for his side, Moore said: “Absolutely, because of how quick the games are coming.

“It’s so strange that we had a game on Wednesday, then there’s another on Saturday and another on Tuesday.

“There’s such a real quick turnaround in games. You have to put your full energy into one, then move on quickly to the next one.

“There cannot be much harbouring or looking back. What is the point?

“You have to put your energies into the little space and time that you’ve got for the next game and making sure you’re using that.”

Rovers suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat at Hull in early December as they struggled to get going at the KCOM Stadium before being hit with a late goal.

Moore feels both sides have improved significantly over the last two months and is expecting an excellent game this afternoon.

“It was a slow start from us but we grew into the game and we had a middle part where we took the game to them,” the Rovers boss said.

“We got the goal to get back into the game and certainly we were looking like we were going to finish the stronger but we fell to a late goal which was disappointing.

“Since then Hull have got more consistency, more power to their play. They look like they’re moving through the pitch more efficiently.

“They’ve probably got more group cohesion because of the succession of games. There’s probably more understanding between them.

“I think both of us have been more in the groove since we last played them.

“There’s probably been better performances from both teams since then.”
