Rovers triumphed 2-0 courtesy of goals from Fejiri Okenabirhie and Taylor Richards but demonstrated real determination throughout, showing a real intent to add to their tally.

And Moore says it ensured Wimbledon could never really settle both in defence and attack, which helped Rovers to their win.

"It was important for us because we wanted to start the game fast and we didn't want Wimbledon to settle,” he said.

"The confidence from Fej to take that goal on the way he did with a real striker's finish.

"We wanted to keep that going. Wimbledon work hard, they're aggressive with you and you've got to stand up and be counted.

"But also when the ball flipped over we saw some good composure and release passes to relieve the pressure.

"That ultimately put them on the back foot. It was pleasing to see that part of it as well too.

"We needed that type of performance against that opposition to ensure the game went the right way for us.”

"I thought it was a good, accomplished performance," he added.

"We set the tone really early and Fej's goal was a really well taken strike.

"It gave us real impetus and a real foothold in the game. Some of the passing and the movement, it always kept them on the back foot in the first half.

"We knew they’d come out strong for the second half and they had a 15 or 20 minute spell at the start of it but we regained control of it and saw the game out."
