Darren Moore on 'consistent' Seny Dieng after extending his loan at Doncaster Rovers
Darren Moore has spoken on his delight in securing the services of goalkeeper Seny Dieng at Doncaster Rovers for the rest of the season.
Rovers confirmed an extension to the Switzerland-born keeper's loan from Queens Park Rangers over the weekend.
And he praised Dieng's consistent performances since coming into the side in September.
"We're delighted to have Seny with us because he's been a very good signing for us," Moore said.
"Him and Ian Lawlor have been competing for that number one spot.
"At the moment, Seny has got it and is playing very, very well and long may that continue.
"With Seny, as with all the other players, one of the biggest components a player can have is consistency.
"He's certainly been that for us."
Dieng started his first league game for Rovers in clash with Peterborough United in mid-September and has since been an ever-present in League One.He has made 19 appearances in all competitions and has kept five clean sheets, helping Rovers deliver one of the best defensive records in the third tier with only three sides having conceded fewer goals.
Moore believes the competition between goalkeepers at the club has helped Dieng excel, with Ian Lawlor and Louis Jones putting pressure on him at all times.
"We feel here that we have three excellent goalkeepers that are pushing each other," Moore said.
"Because the other two are pushing him, it keeps Seny on his toes.
"He's in fine form, he's been consistent.
"He's developing, he's grown.
"Seeing him, I felt it was the right time to bring him to the club to compete for that number one spot and he's showing all the credentials why we brought him here.
"Long may he continue his own personal development."
