Darren Moore addresses speculation linking Doncaster Rovers with Aston Villa youngster
Darren Moore neither confirmed nor denied that Doncaster Rovers are pursuing a loan deal for Aston Villa youngster Jacob Ramsey.
Reports have suggested that Rovers have agreed a loan deal with the Premier League side for the highly-rated attacking midfielder.
But Moore would only confirm that Ramsey is one of numerous options that have presented to Rovers as he looks to complete his January business ahead of Friday night’s deadline.
“He’s a young player at Aston Villa who is doing really, really well,” Moore said of Ramsey.
“There’s him and many players and it would be wrong for me to say he is the player because he’s not just the player.
“There’s a load of players that have been thrown our way and will continue to be thrown our way over the next day.
“What we are trying to do is work smart, trying to maintain our focus whilst focusing on the game as well.
“It’s been a really busy time with the games we’ve had so as much as trying to add to the squad we’ve had to keep the right perspective with the games coming up.”
Ramsey has made three senior appearances for Villa and is regarded as one of the top prospects in the club's academy. He has scored six goals in 12 appearances for the club’s U23s so far this season.
He did not feature for Villa’s U23s when they played at the Keepmoat against their Rovers counterparts on Wednesday night.
