Colts cement top position

EPWORTH Colts under-11s maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a crushing 16-0 cup victory over old adversaries Westcliff Colts.

Meanwhile last weekend saw the Isle side back in league action with App Frod Juniors the visitors to Carside.

The colts continued their impressive start to the season by dominating the game from start to finish. The home side have stepped up from the seven-a-side game to the 11-a-side format, conquering the offside rule in the process.

Some of the passing and movement throughout the side was excellent with strikers Kyle Blackburn and Callum Marsh running the App Frod defence ragged.

And with Aiden Woodcock and Luke Bradley marshalling the game from the back and Mitch Jenkinson in complete control in midfield, the colts rarely look threatened and ran out eventual 6-1 winners.

This result has cemented their position at the top of the league and with excellent performances all over the pitch, the difficult choice for Man of the Match was eventually awarded to Woodcock.
