Sadlier scored twice against his former club as Rovers ran out 3-0 winners at London Road.

It came after boss Darren Moore ended recent tradition at the club as scheduled a training session for Christmas morning.

And Sadlier says heading to Cantley Park was proven a worthwhile exercise.

“It was a great result," Sadlier said.

“It was worth being in on Christmas Day and Christmas Eve.

"When you get results like that, it makes it all worth it.”

Rovers turned in a stunning performance at Peterborough, mixing excellent counterattacking football with great organisation and smart play.

Sadlier put the result down to ruthlessness and a strong game plan.

“We’ve probably played better football in some other games with more rhythm to our play,” he said.

“We just worked hard, we dug in, and we took our chances. We were ruthless in front of goal.

“We've played some good football again but we worked from the back and then breaking forward.

“We executed it perfectly.

“We’ve got smart players in our team. Knowing what passes to play, when to go forward and when to keep it and relax.

“We work so hard. You can’t always go forward, you need to have a breather.

“I think it came off perfectly.

“It gives us great confidence.”
