Central Midlands League: AFC Bentley seal narrow win - Crowle Colts hit nine
AFC Bentley returned to winning ways after winning 2-1 away at North Division strugglers Collingham.
Joe Smith put the visitors into a first-half lead with a goal on the half hour mark.
Theo Mowatt then gave them more breathing space when scoring from the penalty spot on 65 minutes. Collingham pulled a goal back six minutes from time, but the Doncaster side held out to claim a welcome victory.
Askern had lost their way against leaders Newark Town long before fog caused the game to be abandoned in the 70th minute, with the hosts 7-0 up.
Harworth Colliery’s second string had to settle for a Tom Pick consolation when going down to a 2-1 loss against unbeaten Division One (North) title challengers St Joseph’s Rockware.
