Bucky's Blog: Rovers need to turn it around - and fast

We've still got to play some of the other teams that are down near the bottom of the league between now and the end of the season.

You’d think of that as a positive usually but with these performances of late, is it really?

It’s such a massive concern that we don’t even look like scoring.

I’ve said games will be different if we can score the first goal, but we just can’t do it.

Shrewsbury winning again on Tuesday night makes everything twice as bad.

I’m at a loss as to what happened against Scunthorpe. Darren Ferguson will be absolutely raging.

It’ll sound like I’m sticking up for the players here when I’m not, but those players are better than that display. I don’t know what’s happened to them, they’re really not performing.

People call me the biggest optimist in the world, but the time has come where you have to say it’s not good enough from the players and demand more.

I’m wondering whether Ferguson might now abandon his system. He said a couple of weeks ago that wins are more important than the overall performance at this stage of the season.

Now he has to get a system in place for the weekend. Whatever it takes to get something, anything. Even if it is just a point to stop the rot right now, because Bradford are going well. They got a superb win on Tuesday night against Burton Albion as well.

I’d be interested to see what Ferguson does with them between now and Saturday.

New loan signing Riccardo Calder has come into the side and he was probably our best player early on at Glanford Park. But it’s so difficult for a young lad to come into a team like this at the minute, when confidence is on the floor.

Ferguson really needs James Coppinger back in the team just to lift them. With the exception of a few players there didn’t look to be much desire in red and white - and that is a big worry.
