The 19-year-old has been one of Darren Moore’s top targets throughout the summer and he has waited patiently for more than five weeks for the official confirmation from the Premier League giants for the deal to be completed.

John-Jules did not sign in time to make his debut in Rovers’ EFL Trophy clash with Bradford City but will be at the Keepmoat to watch his new team mates in action and will report for training later in the week.

The pacy striker has yet to make his senior debut for the Gunners but has been a prolific scorer at age group level. He has been involved in matchday squads for the Premier League and Europa League.

The London-born youngster has trained regularly with the senior squad at Arsenal, starting two years ago under previous boss Unai Emery.

John-Jules joined Lincoln City on loan in January and made seven appearances before breaking a bone in his foot, which ended his season prior to the Covid-19 pandemic halting League One.

Despite his short stay at Sincil Bank, he earned a glowing report from Imps manager Michael Appleton who praised his maturity, both mental and physical.

He has featured in the EFL Trophy for Arsenal U23s in the past, with a record of three goals in six matches over two campaigns in the competition.
