BREAKING: Doncaster Rovers complete signing of striker Devante Cole

Doncaster Rovers have completed the permanent signing of striker Devante Cole from Wigan Athletic for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old has signed a six-month contract with the option of a further year and will be eligible to make his Rovers debut against Southend United on Tuesday night.

Cole spent the first half of the season on loan at Motherwell in the SPFL, scoring four goals in 21 appearances for the Steelmen.

He has found options at Wigan limited since they won promotion from League One in the summer of 2018.

A former Manchester City trainee, the son of former Manchester United striker Andy Cole established himself during a two-year spell at Fleetwood Town where he scored 22 goals in 94 appearances.
