The Rovers boss was delighted to see his side emerge on top and pointed to the contrast in age and experience between the two sides when declaring the significance of the triumph.

Moore said: "When I look back on the game we've probably had four players on the pitch under the age of 20, development squad players - Danny Amos, Niall Ennis, Jacob Ramsey - you're talking young players against real experience that looked to come and manage the game as they did.

"It's a massive three points and probably the best for me this season because of who we had on the pitch and what they were up against.

"I'm absolutely delighted.

"Their experience and know-how that they had on the pitch, my boys stood up to it and dug out a result.

"It went to 1-1 and the players showed great resilience and belief to turn it around, go and get the second goal and then go to get the third.

"It turned out to be a convincing win but it was far from it because we had to work so hard for it."

Moore praised the patience and composure shown by his side as they rode through a difficult opening half hour to emerge on top, heading into the break with the lead courtesy of Niall Ennis.

Though Wycombe equalised through Adebayo Akinfenwa, Kieran Sadlier put Rovers back in front before a Jason McCarthy own goal put the game to bed.
