Bingham has endured a tough time since signing a short term deal with Rovers, with Whiteman admitting the forward has struggled for form.

But he netted a wonderful curling effort to seal the win for Rovers, capping off a strong cameo off the bench.

“He’s worked very hard, Rakish,” Whiteman said.

“It’s been difficult for him, coming in late in the season.

“He’s probably not had as many opportunities as he would have liked and when he has he’s probably not played as well as he can do.

“But he came on and I thought he was a threat. He held the ball well and deserved his goal.”

Bingham’s performance and goal gave boss Darren Moore fresh food for thought as he assesses whether to extend his short term deal with the club.
