Welfare have more than doubled their points tally for the season over the last five days after also winning 3-2 at previously unbeaten Brigg Town at the weekend.

The Church Street club are currently searching for a new manager following Mike Carmody’s resignation last month.

Quickfire goals from Luke Williams and Paul Sherburn around the half hour mark turned Wednseday night’s game on its head after Campion had broken the deadlock.

The hosts twice threatened a comeback with goals after the break but James Arnold, an Andrew McCreadie own goal and Bradley McFadden made sure of the points for Welfare.

Armthorpe’s victory moved them up to 13th in the table with matches now suspended until the first weekend in December.
