Armthorpe Welfare beat early leaders in NCEL Division One
Welfare had suffered a defeat to Harrogate Railway Athletic in midweek but bounced back in confident fashion for a notable win.
Both sides threatened early with North Ferriby keeper Lewis Excall denying Adam Lee after good play from Radford.

Hide AdAnd moments later Ben Leyland drilled a shot off the bar as the visitors pushed.
Lee went close again on the stroke of half time when he latched onto a backheel from Radford but could only find the sidenetting.
North Ferriby were the stronger side in the early stages of the second half when Danny Emerton fired narrowly wide from just inside the box.
And the visitors maintained their pressure with Eddie Birch heading over from a corner.

Hide AdBut Armthorpe responded in kind with Craig Aspinall seeing a 25 yard free kick tipped over the bar.
And on 59 minutes they were ahead.
Lee collected a Josh Bowkett throw, skipped past his man and found Radford who drilled in from 12 yards.
North Ferriby mounted pressure as they looked to get back into the game,
Armthorpe keeper Alfie Stevens-Neale collected a glancing header from Tom Oliver while Jordan Douglas saw a strike deflect just wide.

Hide AdStevens-Neale then reacted well to smother a low shot from Joe Shortland which deflected on its way through.
Despite the pressure, Armthorpe held firm to ensure moments of real threat on Stevens-Neale's goal were fleeting.
