May has found first team opportunities limited over the last few months, starting just three of Rovers' last 15 matches in all competitions.
Overall he has made 22 appearances this season, scoring three goals with nine starts.
Though he arrived at the club as a striker in January 2017 from eighth tier Hythe Town, this season may has found himself deployed as part of the three man line behind a lone forward under Moore.
May was not in the squad for Sunday’s defeat to Sunderland with Moore suggesting he had a niggling injury. The forward did return to training on Monday.
