Former Manchester United youngster Luke McCullough has signed for Rovers on a two year deal.
The Nothern Irish centre half has been training with Rovers throughout pre-season and impressed in each of the friendlies.
McCullough has been earmarked for Rovers’ new development squad by boss Paul Dickov but could find himself in senior squad plans at the start of the season with plenty of business left to be done in the transfer market.
The 19-year-old was released by Manchester United at the end of last season and had failed to make a senior appearance for the Old Trafford club.
He made one substitute appearance while on loan with Cheltenham in March but has otherwise not yet made a senior start.
McCullough – who captained United’s academy side – had been labelled the ‘new Jonny Evans.’
