Doncaster Rovers announce Virgin Trains as new sponsor as next season's kits are revealed

Doncaster Rovers' kits for the next two seasons will be sponsored by Virgin Trains, it has been announced.

The deal - expanding on Virgin Trains' existing sponsorship of the club's training kit - was unveiled at Doncaster station on Monday, along with the designs for next season's kits.

The traditional red hoops of the home shirt will included key moments from the last ten years of Rovers' history including dates, games and players selected by supporters.

And the away shirt features a green hoop to mark each year that the Keepmoat Stadium.

Club Doncaster head of commercial affairs Andrew Whitham said: “We are pleased to be working with such a well-known company like Virgin Trains which is a great supporter of the local area.

"This partnership builds on our promotion back to League One and is another sign of the development of Club Doncaster.“We marked the 10th anniversary of our move to the Keepmoat Stadium this season, so I’m delighted we could celebrate the best moments of the past decade as chosen by the most important people at the club – the fans.”

Virgin Trains regional commercial manager Paul Smith said: “We’re really proud of what Doncaster Rovers has achieved over the last season and are excited to be part of their promotion story.“We love to play a role in helping and celebrating the success of local people and communities on our route, and this shirt sponsorship is a great opportunity to show just how important Doncaster is to us.

The new shirts will be on display at Doncaster station this week and will be available for pre-order on June 1.
