South Yorkshire League: Doncaster Town on the brink of sealing Premier League return

Doncaster Town moved to within one victory of sealing promotion back to the ECB Yorkshire South Premier League South by beating Wath at Town Field.

Rob Barlow scored 32 and Harvey Wootton made 49 but Wath collapsed from 70-1 to 150 all out.

Luke Townsend took 3-40 and Graeme Attenborough came on at third change to claim an excellent 5-38.

Doncaster were in a bit of bother at 67-4 but Attenborough came to the rescue with 47 and the hosts reached their target with five wickets to spare.

Town could confirm their promotion by beating third-placed Elsecar at Armroyd Lane on Saturday.

Elsewhere in the South Yorkshire League Championship, Conisbrough recorded an easy victory at bottom side Hallam B.

Travis Cresswell hit a superb 111 from 107 balls to elevate Conisbrough to 255-7. Amitpaul Kundra also contirbuted 65.

Hallam could only muster 139 all out in reply. Stuart Bellwood took 3-36 and Oliver Jackson 3-43.

In Division One Sprotbrough maintained the 13-point promotion gap between them and Warmsworth by winning at Coal Aston.

Scott Mantovani (5-19) and Jonathan Scaife (4-30) skittled the home side for 108.

Sprotbrough eased to victory by seven wickets thanks to Charlie Kaye (49no) and Adam Kaye (30).

Warmsworth maintained their pursuit of Sprotbrough with a good win at Upper Haugh.

Dominic McGough (70) and Rhys Mann (44) top scored in Warmsworth’s total of 223 before Richard Marshall (3-38) and Tommy Hyde (3-62) helped dismiss the home side for 175.
