Hatfield Town lost ground in the Pontefract League Division Two promotion race after losing out by two wickets at Hemsworth.
Town were put into bat and started well thanks to 22 from Karl Buxton and 36 from Andy Cutts.
Once they departed there was a steady stream of wickets and Town eventually slipped to 152 all out from 41 overs.
Paul Davies and Luke Cockburn each chipped in with 20.
Hemsworth made a steady start in reply through openers Andy Briggs (39) and Craig Webster(29) but the introduction of Buxton (2-25) and Mick Sellars (4-40) to the attack saw the run rate drop and wickets fall.
Kev Marshall took two late wickets to put the pressure on the hosts but Hemsworth eventually edged home, reaching 154-8 after 50 overs.
The defeat leaves Hatfield ten points adrift of the automatic promotion places.
Barnby Dun continue to hover just above the drop zone after a convincing nine wicket defeat at the hands of leaders Sandal.
Only four batsmen reached double figures as Dun were dismissed for 86.
Sandal knocked off for the loss of just one wicket in 23 overs.
In Division One Alisdair Fearns struck a century for Hooton Pagnell but still finished on the losing side.
Fearns’ excellent innings of 109 helped his side post a very respectable 234-8.
However, Streethouse were not fazed by the target and got home for the loss of five wickets in 45.1 overs.
