And it proved to be a real red letter day for Scott Buttrick who hit a half century then took an exceptional 8-38 for the Isle side.

Outcasts started with the bat as Simon Pullan took the first wicket when Richard Wroot was caught by Tom Reed at mid on having scored just nine.

Andrew Lawson looked to be in good form with the bat before being caught in the deep by Pullan off spinner Paul Reed for 30, and when Darren Clark was bowled by Reed for six the visitors were letting their early advantage slip at 59-3.

Peter Tait played well and along with Deol Singh they moved the total to 97, Singh being caught by Shaun Clixby off Shaun Clark for a quick fire 29, and Tait looked set for a half century before he was caught on 37.

Russell Fletcher made a dozen then went to a second Clixby catch, this time to Pullan but Buttrick went on to dominate the rest of the innings with some majestic shots that saw him reach a terrific 50.

Graeme Fletcher struck a couple of late boundaries as he helped to take Crowle’s final total up to 204.

In response, Buttrick took no mercy with the ball and astonishingly took six wickets without conceding a run.

After taking a break from the attack, it was Buttrick who finished off the job for Crowle, as his final two wickets ensured a 47 run win for Crowle, and gave man of the match Buttrick bowling figures of 8-38.
