South African David White showed his prowess with the bat for Tickhill but could not prevent his new team suffering a third straight defeat in the ECB Yorkshire South Premier League.
Tickhill pushed Whitley Hall all the way at Baxter Field but fell short by 25 runs.
The hosts batted first and the depth and breadth of their line-up shone through as first Daniel Rafiq scored 30, Neil Longhurst 47 and then Greig Batty scored 44.
Alex Rowland made his presence felt with 4-58 but Tickhill were left with a daunting target of 250.
In reply White showed his potential with an excellent 86, including 13 fours, achieved in 91 balls.
Atif Sheikh, recruited from Rothley, kept the Doncaster club’s hopes alive but was left high and dry on 37 not out as the innings closed at 224 all out.
