Club Doncaster Foundation’s work in the community has been given a royal seal of approval.
The Foundation won the Professional Club Community Programme of the Year Award at the 2015 Sport & Recreation Alliance Community Sport and Recreation Awards.
The award was presented by HRH Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex.
Club Doncaster chief executive Liam Scully said: “In our world, the Sport and Recreation Alliance is as prestigious as it gets.
“Over the past few years we have been proud of our achievement in gaining a number of local and regional awards, however, it is nice to finally go that one step further and land national recognition.
“I would like to take the opportunity to recognise all of our dedicated team members who are the real champions. They consistently go above and beyond in support of helping others and often their hard work goes unseen.
“I would also like to thank our trustees and partners who are equally supportive and challenging of the Foundation in advance of driving us on to new heights.”
The Sport and Recreation Alliance’s Community Sport and Recreation Awards showcase the very best that sport and recreation activities bring to communities up and down the country.
The Professional Club Community Programme of the Year award, which is sponsored by the PFA (Professional Footballers Association), celebrates the hard work that professional clubs do to make sure that they are embedded into local life.
