KNIGHTS were left seeing double after a shock defeat at basement side Birmingham.
Both clubs decided to make Sunday's Championship clash a double-header -meaning the result would also stand in the British & Irish Cup after the corresponding fixture was postponed last month.
But Doncaster reserved one of their worst performances of the season for Damson Park and were soundly beaten by the struggling Bees.
Neil Cochrane and Tristan Roberts crossed the line either side of the break - and Roberts kicked five penalties and two conversions - but Lynn Howells' side were outmuscled and out-thought by a Birmingham side that outscored Doncaster by four tries to two.
England Sevens winger Simon Hunt raced over in the opening few minutes and Ollie Grove's try on the opposite flank gave the hosts an 18-16 half time lead.
Lock Semisi Tualava powered over after the restart and a second score from Hunt put the Knights in their place - despite the best efforts of Roberts.
