INJURY-hit Doncaster Rovers Belles have snapped up Australian international striker Lisa De Vanna as they bid to maintain their bright start to the season.

Belles boss John Buckley announced the new signing yesterday following news that influential Scottish star Pauline Hamil could be ruled out for eight to ten weeks with shin splints.

Buckley said: "Losing Pauline is a big blow because she is such a key member of the squad. But the signing of Lisa should give us a boost.She has played for the Under 21s and full international side and I have high hopes of her making an impact while she is here."

De Vanna has a reputation as a goalscorer and should be clear to join the Belles early next month.

Third from top Belles are set to play next to bottom Bristol City Academy at Belle Vue on Sunday (2pm).

l Belles' Under 10s managed a hard fought but deserved 2-0 win against Dronfield Town with goals from Grace Sanderson and Amber Warren on her home debut.

The Under 12s Yellows scored 10 goals for the second week running beating Barnsley 10-1 with super hotshot Jessica Sigsworth scoring a double hat trick for the second week running with the other goals coming from Abby Mills 2, Mollie Lambert and Ellie Chandler.

The Under 12s Blues went down 5-1 away to Sheffield Wednesday's A team.

Under 14s Yellows went down 6-3 at Morley Spurs but both Under 16s teams had good results with the Yellows beating Sheffield Wednesday 5-1 and the Blues returning from Morley Spurs with a 4-1 victory.
