THE Belles put last week's shock defeat behind them as they bounced back to form in this rearranged FA Cup tie to earn a trip to Barry Town Ladies this Sunday in the 5th round.

The Withdean stadium was very wet and with strong winds prominent conditions were difficult.

But after going a goal down on 10 minutes following a misunderstanding in defence the Belles mastered the conditions and very quickly took control.

The equaliser came on 21 minutes following a good move and decisive

strike from 15 yards by Karen Burke.

Doncaster started to dominate with Becky Easton and Vicky Exley showing their quality in midfield and it came as no surprise when Mel Garside found a little space and fired a shot into the bottom corner to put the Belles in front.

Belles continued to outplay their opponents and secured their third goal on 33 minutes following a great passing movement with striker Jodie Handley bursting into the box and shooting inside the near post from 12 yards.

The goal of the game was scored by Garside on 39 minutes when she volleyed home from 20 yards into the roof of the net to make the half time score 4-1.

Handley scored her second goal on 65 minutes with a near post header glanced inside the post following a good cross from Burke.

Brighton scored a late consolation goal on 88 minutes following a goalmouth scramble but the Belles had done enough and finished worthy winners.
