Votes were cast across the country for the yearly awards, staged by The National Angling paper, The Angling Times and Angling Mail, with Lindholme Lakes netting first.

The Lakes, based off Wroot Road in Epworth, received 33 per cent of the vote with Partridge Lakes in Manchester second with 11 per cent.

The award recognises products, commitment, development, investment and quality of fishing.

The Angling Mail held their own ballot and again the Lakes was voted as the Best Commerical Fishery in England.

Owner Neil Grantham said: “To say this is every fishing lakes owner’s dream is an understatement. Things here will just get better and better.

“Thank you to the Epworth local planners and North Lincolnshire Council planners in making this possible. The cafe and amenities facility, public bar and on-site tackle shop have just got better and better and planners have also let me have a 100-pitch touring caravan site and 30-Park Home development with eight lodge pitches already sold.”

Neil and Beverley Grantham accepted the award which is displayed in the cafe.
