The third season will likely focus on the casino that Marty and Wendy spent all of season two trying to make a reality.

It was also clear at the end of season two that the power dynamic between Marty and Wendy had changed.

Wendy appears to have found her calling in the world of corrupted politics and money laundering, whereas all Marty wants to do is have his family flee from the cartel controlling their lives.

Showrunner Chris Mundy told The Hollywood Reporter that the show will pick up with Marty and Wendy struggling with their dynamic, as well as “dealing with an outside force”.

Mundy also revealed that Wendy’s brother will be added to the cast - and is set to cause trouble if previous mentions of him have anything to indicate.

He added that the new season will see Ruth continuing to get closer to the Byrde family.

He said: “Ruth is more and more self-confident, but she’s grateful to Marty for being the first person to believe in her and give her responsibilities.

“Going into season three, we see her very much wanting to be a member of the Byrdee family. However, as she gets deeper and deeper into the enterprise, she starts to wonder if being a Byrdee is the best thing to be."

There are also a lot of loose ends from season two that need wrapped up as well.

The finale of season two saw a lot of bloodshed, with Cade Langmore being gunned down by a mysterious gunman and the murder of Agent Petty which will bring the Feds back to the Ozarks to find out what happened.

Similarly, after Marty murdered Pastor Mason Young, his disappearance could be set to cause trouble for the Byrdes as well.

When will season three be released?

Here’s the good news Ozark fans - season three of the money laundering Netflix thriller is out on Netflix right now.

The season released on Friday 27 March in its entirety, so there’s no need to wait around each week for a new episode.
