Motorists travelling on a Doncaster stretch of motorway are continuing to experience significant delays, due to a vehicle fire and an accident involving a lorry.

The A1M Southbound is currently closed between J37 (A635) and J36 (A630) near Doncaster due to a serious collision involving a HGV.

Emergency services are in attendance, and it is not yet known whether anyone has been injured in the collision.

A diversion route is in effect following the Solid Circle symbol and customers are to exit the A1M at J37 taking the A635 eastbound towards Doncaster until the junction with the A638.

Then proceeding eastbound on the A638 until meeting the junction with the A19.

At this roundabout customers may then take the A630 heading westbound from Doncaster which then re-joins the A1M at J36

A Highways Agency spokesman said: "Customers should allow extra time for their journeys and strategic traffic travelling from farther afield may wish to consider alternative routes."
