Young woman arrested over murder of 18-year-old in South Yorkshire

A murder probe is underway after an 18-year-old man was killed in an attack in South Yorkshire.

The man, who has not yet been named by South Yorkshire Police, was assaulted in flats off Wadworth Street, Denaby Main, Doncaster, yesterday afternoon.

Emergency services were alerted to the incident at 2.30pm yesterday and the man was rushed to hospital but could not be saved.

An 18-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody this morning.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: "Police have launched a murder investigation in the Denaby Main area of Doncaster following the death of a man.

Emergency services were called at around 2.30pm yesterday to reports an 18-year-old man had been assaulted in flats off Wadworth Street, Denaby Main.

"The man was taken to hospital where he was sadly pronounced dead. His family have been informed.

"An 18-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody.

"An investigation is underway and officers are in the local community making enquiries."
