The survey looked at which interiors trends are the most popular, and the UK cities that feature them most.

In London, 90 per cent of people said that they have at least one of the UK’s hottest interior trends in their home, making them the trendiest city in the country, but 82 per cent of Leeds people questioned also keep up with the latest fashions.

The most popular interior trends are; wooden features and items (40 per cent), wall art - big posters and framed art (37 per cent), copper items (20 per cent), succulent plants (18 per cent) and brightly coloured front doors (17 per cent).

The survey revealed that London is also the most popular place in the country for up and coming trends, such as brightly-coloured front doors and sage green colour schemes, which are both set to be big in 2018.

According to the survey carried out by Anglian Home Improvements, the trendiest five cities in the UK are London (90 per cent), closely followed by Glasgow (89 per cent), Leeds (82 per cent), Manchester (82 per cent), and Nottingham (81 per cent).

While most Brits said that they usually wait two years to redecorate their homes, a quarter of people (25 per cent) in Glasgow and Cardiff say they would be happy to redecorate their home up to four times per year (every three months), in order to stay on-trend. However, around 4.5 million Brits (seven per cent of respondents) say they “never” redecorate, as their interiors “will come back into fashion eventually” anyway.

Nationally, Brits feel that the most important room for decor is the living room (70 per cent), followed by the kitchen (nine per cent), while Londoners expressed more interest in the bedroom (12 per cent).
